Just received an email and thought I’d check out your new website. Here in the SF Bay Area, jobs are still quite dear, so we certainly hope that Mr. Bernanke is correct about this recession easing this year. Sooner is better than later!
I completely agree that the recruiting paradym has changed. Too many companies have abandoned the personal and professional qualities a recruiter brings to the table all in the mistaken belief they are saving money. Ask the Sales Manager who gets 28 resumes none having any sales experience. This happened to one of our clients and he was still precluded from using a searh firm. How much did it actually cost someone to screen (if they did) all these candidates? How much did it cost in the manager’s wasted time? I believe the tide will eventually come back to having professionals recruiting for passive superstar candidates. How long, I am not sure. But the internet is not the answer.
Did you see the new article about the guy who sold somebody elses house, and claims he believes he did nothing wrong? Their house was owned by a business in NV, and the recorder accidently put the name in CA, which did not exist. This person figured it out, created the business in CA and then sold the house.
Pretty Clever, until the real owners returned to find somebody living in the house. Now he is in Jail (I think).
